As you step into the lower level, the open atrium with its circular balcony draws the eye upward, offering a sense of grandeur while maintaining an inviting warmth. The focal point is this area are the lively murals, bursting with colorful depictions of New York City landmarks, and a large black-and-white mural on the wall, depicting prominent historical figures. The mural highlights influential Black leaders, including Frederick Douglass, Malcolm X, and others, adding a powerful cultural and historical dimension to the space. This artistic tribute energizes the space and sparks the imagination of visitors, encouraging both children and adults to explore their own creativity.

The design incorporates cozy reading nooks and collaborative areas for group work or socializing. Comfortable seating, interactive digital stations, and playful artwork make this library an engaging environment for children, while quiet study zones and a modern tech hub cater to students, professionals, and lifelong learners.
